IKEA comes with two ‘smart’ bathroom lamps

IKEA appears to be working on two bathroom lamps with an internet connection. These would fall within the Trådfri line, and just like the lamps and other connected accessories, they can be controlled with an app.

The two lamps have been spotted in a German catalog of the Swedish furniture giant. There, two lamps named Gunnarp are shown. IKEA was not immediately available for comment.

According to the catalog, the lamps work together with the Trådfri system and can therefore also be connected to other ‘smart’ appliances in the house or can be operated with the Trådfri remote control. The lamps are dimmable and the color temperature can be set in three positions. According to the images and the text, two versions of the lamps will be released: a round and a square. Both lamps can be mounted on the ceiling as well as on the wall.

IKEA specifically mentions in the catalog that it concerns bathroom lamps. However, the folder does not state whether the lamps have an IP rating and are therefore resistant to humidity and water. However, the company already sells recessed spotlights for the bathroom with an IP44 rating.
