Electronic Arts announces that Battlefield Hardline is being postponed. The game was scheduled for release this fall, but EA is pushing it to early 2015. The publisher is giving developer Visceral Games extra time to complete the campaign and improve stability.

In an extensive post on the official Battlefield Blog, Karl Magnus Troedsson, director of the Swedish Digital Illusions CE and therefore responsible for all Battlefield games, explains why the decision was made to postpone Battlefield Hardline. Troedsson gives three reasons for this. He wants more depth of the story from the game’s campaign. He also wants to improve the stability of the game. Finally, Troedsson wants to expand the multiplayer portion of the game.

The beta test of the game is said to have generated a lot of feedback, which has given developer Visceral Games new ideas for the online part of the game. According to the developer, it takes time to process those new ideas in the game and that time has been given to the company by publisher EA. Hardline should now be released in the spring of 2015. The game will be available for Windows, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. While most Battlefield games are a military affair, Hardline is a battle between police and robbers.
