Google makes game controller for Android TV

Google has made a game controller for Android TV, but will not release it. Instead, the controller is included in the ADT-1 Developer Kit. The controller seems made for playing games on TV.

According to Google, the Developer Kit allows developers to test apps for Android TV. The internet giant mentions that a controller is included, but does not state what its exact purpose is. Probably game developers can test whether games work well with a controller and TV in case manufacturers release controllers in combination with set-top boxes.

The controller has two joysticks, a d-pad and A, B, X and Y buttons. In addition, there are buttons for operating the interface, namely the classic home and back buttons that Google replaces in Android L with a triangle and a round, according to photos from Geek.com. The controller works via bluetooth.

The kit also includes a set-top box. The small black box has an Nvidia Tegra 4-soc, assisted by 2GB of RAM. The box has WiFi via the 802.11n standard and supports Bluetooth, USB, Ethernet and HDMI. There is 16GB of storage memory in the box.
