Apple has added a cheaper iMac with a screen diagonal of 21.5 inches to its range. The model will receive an economical Core i5 with a clock speed of 1.4GHz and a hard drive with a storage capacity of 500GB from the manufacturer. The price is 1129 euros.

The processor of the new 21.5″ iMac is probably the Core i5-4260U, a mobile chip with standard clock speed of 1.4GHz and Turbo boost to 2.7GHz. The integrated video chip is the HD Graphics 5000 and the TDP is 15W The processor is therefore considerably less powerful, but also a lot more economical than the Core i5s of the other two iMacs, which Apple also continues to supply and which have a TDP of 65W.

Furthermore, the cheapest iMac has 8GB of RAM and a hard drive with storage capacity of 500GB. The other two iMac with 21.5 “screen have 1TB HDDs. The price of the new model is 1129 euros. This makes the model 200 euros cheaper than the all-in-one that was the cheapest until now and that has a price of 1329. There were rumors about the arrival of iMacs with higher resolution, but Apple has not changed the resolution: it is still 1920×1080 pixels for the 21.5″ models and 2560×1440 pixels for the 27” iMacs .
