Dell Announces Update for Venue Tablets and New Inspiron Hybrids
Dell has updated the Venue 7 and Venue 8: the Android tablets get a new Atom-soc and run Android 4.4. In addition, Dell is introducing two new 2-1 laptops with a flip screen in the Inspiron series.
The Venue 7 gets an update from the Atom Z2580 to the Merrifield-based Z3460, while the Venue 8 gets an upgrade to the slightly faster Atom Z3480. The Dell Venue 7 still has a 7″ screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The 8″ screen of the Venue 8 shows 1920×1080 pixels. Both tablets will be powered by Android 4.4, will be available in black and red, and will be available in July for a price tag of $160 for the Venue 7 and $200 for the Venue 8.
In addition, Dell will release 2-1 versions of the Inspiron 11 3000 Series and Inspiron 13 7000 Series. These are two laptops with a touchscreen that can be completely folded over to use the laptop as a tablet. Both systems run Windows 8.1. The Inspiron 11 3000 2-in-1 features an 11.6″ display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels, a Pentium quad-core and a 500GB HDD. This model will be available in the US in mid-June for a starting price of $450 The Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 is a lot more powerful with Intel Core processors and Dell also equips this laptop with a full HD screen and an illuminated keyboard.This hybrid will be released in September with an unknown price.
