Emsisoft has released version 12.2 of Anti-Malware and Internet Security. Anti-Malware protects against viruses and malware, while Internet Security also has a firewall on board. A license for Anti-Malware costs four bucks and for Internet Security that is five. The programs are suitable for Windows 7 or higher and can be tested for 30 days. After those thirty days, the programs switch to free mode, which can scan and uninstall, but offers no real-time protection. In version 12, the detection of ransomware has been improved, among other things. The following improvements have also been made in this update:

• Administrator mode timeout settings.
• Minor GUI improvements.
• Protection paused indicator on the Overview screen.
• CPU load during update process.
• Behavior Blocker: correct processing of exclusions for apps that are started after an exclusion was added.
• Quarantine Re-scan procedure.
• Path used by the update process moved to \ProgramData\Emsisoft\updates
• Pre-installation check for Kaspersky and AVG Antivirus/Internet Security due to program incompatibilities

Fixed:

• Firewall application rules processing for files that are not accessible at boot time (encrypted drives) in Emsisoft Internet Security.
• Memory leak in Emsisoft Internet Security.
• Occasional ‘Internal processing error’ issue during update.
• Update log parsing issue.
• Main screen out of position.
• Occasional issue where File Guard did not start after a program restart.
