Sony introduces Cyber-shot RX100 III

Sony has announced a new version of the Cyber-shot RX100. The Cyber-shot RX100 III is a point-and-shot camera that has a new image processor compared to its predecessor and is equipped with an improved Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T-lens.

The design of the new Cyber-shot is almost identical to that of the previous RX100 and the resolution has also remained the same at 20.1 megapixels. However, the camera is equipped with a new Bionz X image processor, which Sony uses for its recent cameras, and the RX100 III is equipped with a Vario-Sonnar T 24-70 mm f/1.8-f/2.8 lens.

In addition, the camera has a 3″ LCD with a resolution of 1,228,800 pixels that can be tilted 180 degrees up and 45 degrees down. The viewfinder is also new: this is an extendable 0.39″ model based on OLED with a resolution of 1,440,000 pixels. In terms of video, the camera can shoot in the xavc s format at 1920×1080 pixels at 60fps, or in HD at 120fps. There is also support for NFC and WiFi.

In the US, Sony has announced that the camera will cost $800. The prices in euros are not yet known.
