Google Now gives notifications when walking past a store with a searched product
Google has updated its Now service to notify users when they are near a store that carries a product the user has previously searched for. Now also shows the price.
Google has announced the update in a post on Google+. As an example, Google gives a user who has searched for hiking boots, but has not yet decided to buy them. “As of today, if you’re near a store that has the hiking boots, you can see a Google Now card with the product and price on it as a reminder that you wanted them,” Google wrote.
Users must update the Google Search app to take advantage of the new functionality. It is not known at what distance the feature works and what the further requirements are. It is also unknown in which countries the Google Now extension will be rolled out and with which retail chains it works.
