‘Windows 11 gets Eco score and tips for users to save energy’
Screenshots of unannounced features of Windows 11 show an Eco score for PCs and tips for users to save energy. There will also be a function to place stickers on the desktop that remain if users change the background.
The Eco-score is not yet active, but can be seen from the leaves at the top of the screen at Settings-Sustainability, says Albacore, a twitterer who usually looks for new features, especially in Windows. It is unknown how Microsoft will rate the Eco score of PCs. The Sustainability settings also provide tips on how users can save energy and how best to recycle the PC when it’s empty, according to the screenshots.
Albacore also shows other unannounced features. For example, Focus Assist has been renamed to Focus and now includes an option to use Focus sessions in the Clock app. It is also possible to turn on background noise to increase concentration.
In addition, there will be an option to paste stickers on the desktop, but what the functionality is and what the options will be is unknown. Those stickers will remain if users switch the wallpaper. The stickers feature is limited to a single screen, so it won’t work if users work with more than one monitor. Microsoft has not yet responded to the appearance of the screenshots. It is still unknown if and when the new features will come.
