Two Mozilla employees have posted screenshots of Firefox OS 2.0 online. The design of the new version resembles that of iOS 7, with colorful icons and a flat design. More transparency has also been used.

Mozilla is in the process of giving Firefox OS a major overhaul. The design of 2.0 is characterized by the use of flat elements and brightly colored icons. More transparency has also been used than with the current Firefox OS. This can be deduced from the screenshots that Mozilla employees Ahmed Nefzaoui and Sören Hentzschel online.

The screenshots show, among other things, the home screen, the lock screen with notifications, the task switcher and the photo gallery. Not only the use of the colors, but also the design of the lock screen and the way in which apps can be switched seem strongly inspired by Apple’s iOS 7. It is expected that it will be several months before Mozilla releases Firefox OS 2.0 .
