Benchmark results have surfaced from an Android tablet running on Intel’s Z3745 soc, a Bay Trail series processor. The tablet comes from Acer and is probably one of the first Android tablets to be announced with a Bay Trail soc.

The data appeared at Gfxbench, Tablets Magazine discovered. The site provides specifications and benchmark results of an Acer tablet with type number A1-840. Given the name, it is a successor to the Iconia A1-830, which has a soc from the Clover Trail series. The still unannounced A1-840 has a Z3745 soc, from the Bay Trail series. This one did its job in collecting the benchmark results at 1862MHz.

Gfxbench also reports that the new Acer tablet contains 1GB of RAM and 10GB of storage. However, it is likely that a total of 16GB of storage is built in, with 10GB being available to the user. The resolution is 1280×800 pixels with a screen diagonal of 8″. For photos, a 5-megapixel camera is on board, while a 2-megapixel camera is built in at the front. The software is based on Android 4.4.2.

Intel had previously announced that the first Android tablets with a Bay Trail soc should be released this spring. So far, no manufacturer has announced a model. Acer therefore seems to be one of the first, although it is likely that other companies will also come with a tablet based on the Bay Trail platform. It is still unclear when Acer wants to announce the A1-840.
