The Chinese manufacturer ZTE will release an Android smartphone with Qualcomm quad-core processor and 4G support on Wednesday for the equivalent of 93 euros. It is the first time that a 4G phone is available for so little money at launch.

The ZTE Redbull presumably runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with four Cortex A7 processor cores, the same processor as, for example, the Moto G. In the cheap Youth variant, the phone has RAM with a size of 1GB and a storage capacity of 4GB. The Energy version costs slightly more and has 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, CNMO.com reports

The phone has a 5″ screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The device has a 2400mAh battery. The camera on the back has a maximum resolution of 13 megapixels, while on the front is a 5-megapixel camera.

It is unclear what exactly the relationship is between ZTE and the brand behind the energy drink that the phone appears to be named after. Last year, the maker of the energy drinks as a virtual provider in Poland already released a ZTE device under its own name; presumably this naming also stems from a collaboration.

The Redbull is the next step in Chinese manufacturers’ struggle to offer smartphones with midrange specs at a low price. Xiaomi presented its Hongmi Note last month, with a larger screen but without support for 4G.
