Respawn Announces Titanfall Minimum System Requirements – Update
Vince Zampella, one of the founders of Respawn Entertainment has revealed the minimum system requirements to run their first game Titanfall on PC. It is unknown when the recommended system requirements will be announced.
Zampella published the minimal system requirements via Twitter and they make it clear that a not very powerful system is needed for the game. To start the game, gamers must have at least a PC running Windows 7 64-bit or a later Windows version, with an AMD Athlon X2 running at 2.8 gigahertz or an Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.4 gigahertz . The minimum amount of RAM is 4 gigabytes and the minimum video RAM is 512 megabytes. The oldest video cards that can run the game are the AMD Radeon HD 4770 and the Nvidia GeForce 8800GT.
The beta, which will start soon, may explain why the system requirements are so low. The engine on which the game runs, a heavily modified version of Valve’s Source Engine, is in any case known to perform well on older hardware. However, it could also be that the graphics level of Titanfall on lowest settings is simply lower than many gamers might expect.
It is not yet known when the open beta will start. According to Zampella the beta must first be certified for the Xbox One by Microsoft before they can start. The Windows version of the beta will require Origin. The full game will be released on March 13 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows.
Update, 10:49 AM: The system requirements have now actually been added to the article.
