AOC announces 24.5″ monitor with 240Hz refresh rate and g-sync
AOC presents a 24.5″ monitor for gamers, which features a tn panel with a refresh rate of 240Hz. The screen supports Nvidia’s G-Sync and has a response time of 1ms. The monitor will be on the market in August for 599 euros.
It is striking that the manufacturer reports on its website that the Agon AG251FG can display a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, with a refresh rate of 144Hz. However, AOC speaks of a recommended resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, with a refresh rate of 240Hz. According to AOC, the panel has a brightness of 400cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1000:1.
The screen is adjustable in height and a headphone holder is mounted on the side. There is a handle on the top of the foot. The monitor has an HDMI and displayport connection, four USB ports and audio connections.
AOC provides the monitor with filters such as the Low Blue Light mode, which should reduce eyestrain. There is also a Shadow Control option, with which dark parts of games can be made lighter.
According to AOC, the Agon AG251FG will be in stores from August for a suggested retail price of 599 euros. In March, the manufacturer already released the comparable AG251FZ monitor. That model is a hundred euros cheaper and does not support G-Sync, but can handle FreeSync.
