GeForce Experience 3.6 has ShadowPlay support for Vulkan and OpenGL
Nvidia has released version 3.6 of its GeForce Experience software. The update makes it possible to record and stream gameplay with ShadowPlay in games that use Vulkan or OpenGL. Previously, ShadowPlay only worked with DirectX.
Thanks to the update, it is now also possible to record games such as Doom, Minecraft and No Man’s Sky with ShadowPlay. Images can also be broadcast directly on streaming services such as Twitch, Facebook and YouTube with the Nvidia tool.
With games that support both DirectX and Vulkan or OpenGL, ShadowPlay users can now choose which api to use. However, in all cases a recent driver must be used: version 385.61 or newer.
According to Nvidia, performance has also improved when using the GeForce Experience overlay in games. Furthermore, Nvidia has adapted the interface and merged Gallery Upload and Broadcast in one window, with the same options. Switching between websites where material can be uploaded should be easier.
