Intel Releases Performance Maximizer Automatic Overclocking Software
Intel has released its Performance Maximizer. It concerns overclocking software that for the time being only works with the Core i9-9900K, i7-9700K, i5-9600K and the KF variants of those processors. Also, a Z390 motherboard is required.
Intel announced its overclocking software at the Computex exchange in late May, then promised the program would be released this year. The manufacturer has fulfilled that promise, because the software package can now be downloaded from the Intel website. There is an installer for the i9-9900K and a variant for the i7 and i5 processors. The software package is about 1.5 GB in both cases.
The software is an automatic overclocking tool that works without having to make any adjustments in the bios. The tool automatically looks for the optimal clock speed by increasing it by small steps and then performing a stability test. This happens until a crash occurs, after which it switches to the last stable setting. Then the software will optimize other settings, such as the voltage. Users do not have to adjust any settings themselves.
Version 1.0.1 of Intel Performance Maximizer only supports the listed Coffee Lake processors. Later versions of the software should also add support for the manufacturer’s hedt CPUs on the X299 platform. It should also be possible to overclock individual cores. It is not yet known when the update with support for those processors will come.
