YouTuber makes the back of Galaxy S8 transparent

A YouTuber has ripped off the back of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and removed the paint on the glass, so that the phone has become transparent on the back. That turned out to be a more difficult operation than with previous Galaxy phones.

A little tinkering isn’t enough to get the paint off, as YouTuber JerryRigEverything, who tests phones for sturdiness and takes them apart, showed on his channel. So he uses a paint remover from a DIY store to get the back transparent.

The operation is not yet finished, because with a transparent back you are mainly looking at plastic elements. That’s why the YouTuber has removed the wireless charging pad. He also uses transparent double-sided tape when restoring the back.

All in all, it’s an operation that requires a lot of tools and some sacrifices. In addition to wireless charging, by doing so, users will also lose the warranty and most likely the water resistance.
