Acer introduces quantum dot monitors and PhD students with Intel Optane memory

Acer has announced two new thin all-in-one computers, which the manufacturer optionally equips with an Intel Optane cache. The U27 does not contain a fan for cooling. In addition, the company is introducing two new game monitors with a quantum dot layer.

For the passive cooling of the U27, Acer uses the Liquidloop heatpipe that it also used with the Switch Alpha 12. The Aspire U27 is a 27″ model with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a thickness of 12mm. The Aspire Z24 is a 23.8″ alternative that is slightly thinner at 11mm. This system is optionally equipped with an Nvidia GeForce 940MX and with an old optical drive. The Predator X27 and the Predator Z271UV are two 27″ monitors for gamers, both of which are coated with a quantum dot layer: nanocrystals that have a favorable influence on the color spectrum. The Predator X27 will be available in the Benelux from November, but nothing is known about the availability and price of the Acer Predator Z271UV.
