Rumor: Leaked Photos Reveal Call of Duty: WWII Coming
Leaked footage may indicate a Call of Duty game returning to World War II. The images consist of various designs for the game’s box and some promotional material.
The images are from the YouTube channel TheFamilyVideogamers. This user has received some images to his email address that resemble real material from the game. According to a thread on the subreddit for Call of Duty games set in World War II, a user who revealed the arrival of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered 11 months ago is also behind the leak. However, it is not clear exactly what role he played in the leak, as he himself also refers to the YouTube video but his accumulated reputation is used to increase the credibility of the leak.
Call of Duty fan site Charlie Intel says the head of Sledgehammer Games, one of the three studios that develop Call of Duty games and the one it’s now “up to,” said in 2014 that he would “love it if there will be a modern game with a Second World War setting’. In addition, Activision has already stated that this year’s Call of Duty game “returns to the origins of the franchise.” There is no official confirmation of the arrival of Call of Duty: WWII.
