DrayTek has for his Vigor 2820-, Vigor 2820n and Vigor 2820vn routers released new firmware with 3.3.3 as the version number. These routers are suitable for passing ADSL2, ADSL2+, cable and VoIP connections. The list of changes lists several new features, numerous improvements, and looks like this:

New Features:

  • Support SmartMonitor authentication and 30 accounts of computer
  • Syslog database on USB disk
  • Mirror port function for Smart monitor on WUI
  • File explore for USB disk on WUI
  • PPPoA pass through
  • Add USB disk file explorer on WUI and syslog database
  • Add the function of Address Mapping.
  • Add “busy or no answer” for VoIP call forwarding.

Improvements:

For VoIP:

  • Corrected: ringing tone for Singapore.
  • Corrected: VOIP regional malfunctions after SAS has been generated.
  • Corrected: SIP memory leakage.
  • Improved: digitmap feature (both WebUI fool-proof check and wildcard support).
  • Corrected: a semi-attentive CT.
  • Corrected: CPU 1.4 VOIP compatibility.
  • Corrected: Doubled VoIP buffer (we reduced it to half in an earlier version) as we found it is more stable.
  • Fixed: call scenario fails with no registration.
  • Fixed: phone does not ring after calling for a while.
  • Fixed: When RFC-2833 with payload type= 96 packet is received, the router will reboot.
  • Fixed: call forward when busy for S0.
  • Don’t let ISDN loop through to PSTN via Digit Map.
  • Increase compatibility with more stun servers.
  • Allowed VoIP number starting with # for non-IP calls.

For ISDN:

  • Corrected: Reboot problem or ISDN
  • Fixed: the first incoming call (TE->S0) would have beep for a while
  • Fixed: Called ID of S0 phone outgoing call display error when a remote user offhook the phone.

For Firewall:

  • Corrected: call filter malfunctioning.

For Wireless:

  • WDS is now compatible with AP700.

For VPN:

  • Corrected: Failure of running IP Ping through VPN.
  • 2nd subnet can route to VPN default route.
  • Fixed: a problem of L2TP over IPSec for teleworker.
  • Add “vpn 2ndpass” and “vpn 2ndsubnet” telnet commands for VPN with second subnet routing.
  • Add the multicast function via VPN feat.

For USB:

  • Corrected: when using samba service, the router will reboot.
  • Improved: Improve many USB functions.

For Driver:

  • Add new DEU(DES/3DES/AES) driver for Infineon new v1.4 SoC

For 3G:

  • Improve the stability for 3G connection.

For Others:

  • Corrected: syslog may cause reboot.
  • Corrected syslog utility causes memory leakage.
  • Corrected: desired ARP cache expiry time will not be reset after reboot.
  • Corrected: PPTP NAT passthrough problem
  • Corrected: DNS query type for AAAA.
  • Corrected: a problem of PPPoA passthough
  • Corrected: some problems of TR-069
  • Corrected: some problems or NAT loopback.
  • Fixed: problems occurred on WUI.
  • Fixed: Load balance setting for specific LAN device with specific WAN interface will fail after fail-over happened.
  • Improved: router stability against NMAP scan and WUI autism
  • Our DNS proxy does not support MX type query; the modification does not cache such kind query. It just lets the packet passing-through our proxy, like a transparent mode for MX query.
