Download Driver For ATI Catalyst 9.9

Spread the love

AMD has released this year’s ninth Catalyst release for the ATI Radeon graphics cards with version number 9.9. The drivers are available for Windows XP, Vista and 7 versions, in 32bit, 64bit and Media Center versions. The new drivers are suitable for all Radeon models from the HD 2400 series; older maps rely on the 9.3 release. As usual, at the very bottom of this posting are the direct links to the pages where the available downloads can be found. In the release notes we don’t find any new features this time. They do, of course, again contain the usual list of bug fixes, followed by a collection of problems that are already known, but for which there is no solution yet:

Resolved Issues for All Windows Operating Systems

  • Catalyst Control Center – Basic now responds properly after exiting Quick Adjust Video Settings
  • Edge enhancement and de-noise sliders in Catalyst Control Center no longer lags or appears out of sync with mouse movement

  • HDMI is now detected properly as DTV (HDMI) instead of DTV (DVI) when the HDMI display is hotplugged for the first time
  • Catalyst Control Center no longer displays error message when specific HDMI displays are hot unplugged and hotplugged back

Resolved Issues for the Windows 7 Operating System

  • Intermittent failures no longer occur with MediaShow Espresso once a transcoding process has been completed

Resolved Issues for the Windows Vista Operating System

  • Running OpenGL applications in windowed mode on extended desktop no longer causes the secondary display to go blank for some ASICs
  • Task switching between the desktop and a game in progress no longer has a visible delay (7-10 seconds)
  • Enabling Screen Space Ambient Occlusion option in “Riddick 2 Dark Athena” no longer causes the game to fail under Multi-GPU configurations
  • Catalyst Control Center no longer shows both HDMI displays as DVI when they are connected via HDMI port and to DVI port via HDMI-DVI dongle
  • Windows Aero Glass Effects now works properly during HD Blu-ray playback

Resolved Issues for the Windows XP Operating System

  • Resuming HD/SD playback after sleep may cause PowerDVD/WinDVD to display green or black video screen
  • With OverlayMixer filter, Blu-ray disc playback with PowerDVD may display black video with audio and counter still running
  • Display may go blank after resuming from hibernation during SD DVD playback in Media Center (MCE)
  • ANNO 1404 (also known as “Dawn of Discovery”) may display black texture corruption instead of surface terrain for some ASICs

Known Issues Under the Windows Vista Operating System

  • Resuming HD/SD playback after sleep may cause PowerDVD/WinDVD to display green or black video screen
  • Severe flickering may be observed while running 3D games/samples on specific HDMI displays with Tripod and Quad CrossFire enabled configurations
  • Desktop flashing may be observed after driver installation and reboot with systems configured with Radeon ASIC in the primary PCIe slot and Firestream ASIC in the secondary PCIe slot

Known Issues Under the Windows XP Operating System

  • Catalyst Control Center: Hotplugging back a HDMI display might not restore its original DTV (HDMI) Pixel Format setting if a DVI display was hotplugged and unplugged during the interval to the same port
  • “Force maximum performance clocks ” option may be missing for the second ASIC in the Catalyst Control Center system tray when two R700 ASICs are connected
