Download KDE 4.3.1

On Tuesday, version 4.3.1 of K Desktop Environment was released, the first service release for the version 4.3.0 that appeared in early August. KDE is a popular desktop environment developed primarily for Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris, but there are versions for it as well Windows and Mac OS X. It comes with a standard desktop, including fifteen packages of applications, including a personal information manager, multimedia, administration and network management programs, and games. Below are release notes of version 4.3.1:

Enhancements

As a service release, the changelog contains a list of bug fixes and improvements. Notable improvements include, but are not limited to:

• KDE 4.3 is now also available in Croatian
• A crash when editing toolbar setup has been fixed
• Support for transferring files through SSH using KIO::Fish has been fixed
• A number of bugs in KWin, KDE’s window and compositing manager has been fixed
• A large number of bugs in KMail, KDE’s email client are now gone
