Adobe releases tools for game developers within Creative Cloud
Adobe has released a series of tools specifically for game developers. The so-called Adobe Game Developer Tools are offered as a cloud service and provide access to some Flash utilities and the other Adobe packages for a fee.
The free version of the Game Developer Tools includes the Adobe Scout, a profiling tool with which games that run within the Flash Player can be further optimized. Adobe Scout is free to use until this tool is released commercially.
In addition, Adobe offers game developers the Gaming SDK, a collection of building blocks for the development of ActionScript 3 games. Finally, the Flash C++ Compiler offers the possibility to compile C and C++ code including GPU support for Flash. Furthermore, a free user gets 2GB of cloud storage.
Those who purchase a subscription for the Game Developer Tools under the umbrella of Adobe’s Creative Cloud also receive access to the Flash Builder, Flash Professional, Photoshop, Illustrator and various other CS6 applications. 20GB of cloud storage is also available.
