Viking survival game Valheim has sold 2 million copies in Early Access
Developer Iron Gate has sold over two million copies of Valheim on Steam. The game was released a little over two weeks ago through Early Access. Last weekend 360,000 people played the game simultaneously.
Valheim is currently one of the most popular games on Steam. Only PUBG, Dota 2 and CS:GO have more concurrent players, according to figures from SteamDB. The Viking survival game has been available on Steam since February 2 for 16.79 euros. It is still an early version.
The game uses procedurally generated environments in which 1 to 10 players must survive. The goal is to reach Asgaard. According to Norse mythology, this is the place where the gods live. Players can work together in Valheim to craft objects and buildings, buildings and fight monsters.
Iron Gate wants to keep the game in Early Access for at least a year and further finish it. The game is three quarters complete in features and half in content. The final version should contain more environments, enemies and bosses and more materials for players to work with. The makers say they will soon announce more about their plans with the game.
