Asus introduces 240Hz portable screen, power supplies, PhD coolers and headsets
Asus unveiled new hardware for gamers under the Republic of Gamers banner during Computex. It concerns a portable 240Hz screen, all-in-one coolers, two power supplies with Gold certification and a 7.1 headset with USB-C connection.
The mobile screen, the Rog Strix XG17, has a diagonal of 17.3″, has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and weighs 800 grams. Asus speaks of a 240Hz refresh rate and uses an IPS panel with a response time of 3ms. is striking, because until now all available 240Hz screens used a tn panel. The screen is also equipped with adaptive sync with a range of 48 to 240Hz. The XG17 can be controlled via micro-hdmi or usb-c and is also equipped with a battery, so that you can work on the screen for three hours.Asus does not indicate at what brightness that battery life is achieved.
In addition, Asus introduces two Rog Strix power supplies with powers of 650 and 750 watts. The power supplies are equipped with a 135mm fan and modular cables. Both power supplies come with an 80 Plus Gold certificate.
With the Rog Strix LC coolers, Asus is releasing three new all-in-one water coolers. The company already sold water coolers under the Ryujin name, which are characterized by the OLED screen on the cooling block. In that respect, the LC coolers are simpler. They do not have an OLED screen, but they do have RGB lighting on the cooling block and fans. The LC appears in 120mm, 240mm and 360mm variants.
Finally, Asus shows two new headsets. The top model is the Rog Theta, which offers 7.1 sound and has a USB-C connection. The microphone is equipped with noise canceling, so that only the user’s voice has to be filtered out of the signal. The second headset is the Rog Theta Electret, which is equipped with a 3.5 mm jack connection and thus reproduces stereo sound.
