Raspberry Pi has sold two million times
Since the Raspberry Pi went on sale a little over a year and a half ago, two million units of the cheap minicomputer have been sold. That has been announced by the Raspberry Pi Foundation.
The two millionth Raspberry Pi copy was delivered at the end of October, so writes the organization: whoever ordered a Raspberry Pi between October 24 and 31 may have the two millionth copy. The Raspberry Pi Foundation has not disclosed how many copies of the different versions have been sold. There are two versions of the Raspberry Pi: the more expensive version has 512MB instead of 256MB memory, two instead of one USB port and an Ethernet connection.
The organization says it could never have expected the two millionth copy to be sold so quickly. The millionth Raspberry Pi copy was delivered in January. The Raspberry Pi is a cheap computer with an ARM soc on board in the size of a debit card. The device comes without storage memory, power supply and housing, but is otherwise a complete computer.
