Crytek Black Sea continues under Sega as Creative Assembly Sofia

Sega has acquired Bulgarian game studio Crytek Black Sea. The studio, which employs sixty people, will continue under the name Creative Assembly Sofia under the Japanese publisher. It is not known which games the studio will be working on.

Crytek Black Sea previously worked on the moba game Arena of Fate. The Bulgarian studio was one of five Crytek studios that had to close due to financial difficulties at the parent company. The studio has now been acquired and will become part of Creative Assembly under its parent company Sega.

The arrival of the studio with sixty people will increase the number of employees of the British Creative Assembly to five hundred employees, Gamesindustry.biz reports. Creative Assembly Sofia will be working on a number of unannounced projects, according to the site. What those are is unknown. The most famous game series from Creative Assembly is the Total War series.

There have been rumors for some time about a sequel to Total War: Warhammer and a massive new ‘historic’ Total War game.
