Lenovo presents new Yoga convertibles with sizes of 13, 14 and 15 inches
Lenovo has presented a series of new convertibles in its Yoga series. The Yoga 720 is available in 15.6″ and 13.3″ versions. The larger version can be supplied with a GTX 1050 GPU. In addition, Lenovo comes with a 2-in-1 called Miix 320.
Lenovo provides the Yoga convertibles with Kaby Lake-generation Intel processors, but does not specifically name which ones. These are probably economical chips such as the Core i7-7700U and comparable models. The 13.3″ Yoga 720 contains a maximum of 16GB DDR4 memory, a PCIe SSD with a storage capacity of up to 1TB and a 48Wh battery. According to the manufacturer, which is good for seven to eight hours of work, depending on the selected screen.
The longest battery life is achievable with the full-HD panel. If you opt for the UHD screen with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, you have to make some sacrifices in terms of working time. The screens have thin bezels, so that according to Lenovo, a 13.3″ screen is housed in a housing that is comparable to that of 12″ devices. There are two USB-C connections with Thunderbolt support. There is also a regular USB 3.0 port and an audio jack. This model is 14.3mm thick and weighs 1.3kg.
The Yoga 720 in 15.6″ version has similar specifications, but the larger housing also fits an extra GPU. That is a maximum of a GTX 1050. Lenovo does not report which other GPUs are possible. The larger version of the Yoga 720 is 19.9 mm thick and weighs at least 2 kg. The battery has a capacity of 72 Wh, which should provide up to ten hours of working time in combination with a full-HD screen.
Lenovo positions the Yoga 520 models below the 720 series. The Yoga 520 is available with a 15.6″ or 14″ screen with a resolution of up to 1920×1080 pixels. There is also a variant with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The 14″ model is 19.9mm thick and weighs at least 1.74kg. The battery has a capacity of 52.5Wh.
All Yoga 720 models have a fingerprint scanner that can be used to log in with Windows Hello. This is optional with the Yoga 520. Both the Yoga 720 and 520 models all use glossy touchscreens with support for an active pen, which can be supplied as an option.
According to Lenovo, the Yoga 720 in 13.3″ format will be available from April for a price starting at 999 euros. The 15.6″ model has a starting price of 1099 euros. It is not known which configurations buyers will receive for the mentioned prices. The Yoga 520 will follow in July, of which the 14 “model starts at 599 euros.
In addition to the Yogas, Lenovo presents the Miix 320, a 10.1″ tablet with Windows 10, which comes with a keyboard. The 2-in-1 has an Intel Atom x5 processor, up to 4GB DDR3 memory and 128GB emmc -flash storage. The tablet and keyboard are together 17.5 mm thick and weigh 1020 grams. The separate tablet weighs 550 grams. The screen has a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. The Miix 320 will be released in April for 269 euros. version with 4g support for 399 euros.
