Lenovo gaming laptops get Ryzen 5000H CPUs, RTX 30 GPUs and 1600p165Hz screen
Lenovo is renewing its Legion 5 and 7 models. The gaming laptops get Ryzen 5000H processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 GPUs. Several models will have a 16:10 screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 165Hz.
The Lenovo Legion 7 is a new top model, which gets the fast 1600p screen. According to the manufacturer, the screen has a response time of 3ms and a maximum brightness of 500cd/m². The panel also has DisplayHDR400 certification. The Legion 7 laptop is 23.5mm thick and weighs at least 2.5kg. Lenovo claims to provide a thin 300W adapter.
There is up to 32GB of DDR4 memory and a PCIe SSD of up to 2TB in the Legion 7. Lenovo configures the laptop with AMD’s new Ryzen 5000H processors and Nvidia’s RTX 30 video cards for laptops. According to the manufacturer, the housing of the 16 “laptop is no larger than that of the predecessor, which had a 15.6 ” screen.
Thin Legion Slim 7
Lenovo is also renewing its thin Legion Slim 7 gaming laptop. This variant is 18.9mm thick and weighs 1.9kg. Here too, Lenovo stops Ryzen 5000H processors and RTX 30 GPUs. This model will be available with 15.6″ screens with a 16:9 ratio and there is an FHD variant with a 165Hz panel and a 4k variant with a 60Hz panel. The slim laptop has a 230W adapter.
Legion 5 Pro with better cooling
New to the lineup is the Legion 5 Pro. This is a model with larger ventilation holes and more fans. It is the successor to the Legion 5P. This version gets the same AMD CPUs and RTX GPUs as the other new models and also gets the 16″ screen with 1600p resolution and 165Hz refresh rate that is in the Legion 7. The Legion 5 Pro is 26.9mm thick and weighs at least 2.45 kg.
Legion 5 with 15.6″ and 17.3″ screen
Lenovo is also updating the cheaper Legion 5 models with new Ryzen CPUs and RTX GPUs. The laptops retain 16:9 screens with traditional sizes of 15.6″ and 17.3″. The large model has a maximum of a 144Hz panel and the smaller version has a maximum of a 165Hz panel. Lenovo promises to use, among other things, improved cooling compared to the predecessors.
