Online service for Nintendo Switch costs a maximum of 25 euros per year
The online service to enable multiplayer on the Nintendo Switch costs a maximum of 25 euros per year. That says the director of the game company in an interview. For that price, users can also install a classic game every month at no extra cost.
It concerns an amount between 2000 and 3000 yen, Nintendo director Tatsumi Kimishima told the Japanese newspaper Nikkei. That is converted currently approximately between 17 and 25 euros. This makes the online service for the Switch cheaper than comparable services for competitors Xbox and PlayStation.
Nintendo previously announced that it will come with a paid online service for the Switch, but did not say the price yet. Kimishima went on to say that Nintendo may add virtual reality to the Switch in the future, if it finds a way for players to use it comfortably for hours on end. That is not yet possible, according to the director.
The Japanese company first showed the Switch in October and showed more of the home and on-the-go console at an event in January. The console, for which Zelda: Breath of the Wild and 1-2-Switch are the main titles at release, will be released in a month.
