Rumor: Samsung will soon release tablet with OLED screen and Snapdragon 820
According to a rumor, Samsung will soon release a new tablet in its Galaxy Tab S line. The Tab S3 would have an OLED screen with a diagonal of 9.6 “and a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. The tablet would run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.
According to the article of the South Korean news site Naver, Samsung will present the tablet at the telecom fair Mobile World Congress, which starts February 27 in the Spanish city of Barcelona. The South Korean manufacturer has not announced an event for the fair. That happened in recent years, when it announced its Galaxy S phones in Barcelona. This year, Samsung will present its new smartphone at a later date.
With the 9.6″ 4:3 screen, the OLED display is slightly smaller than the 9.7″ version of its predecessor. Two models appear; one only has wifi for a wireless internet connection and the other also has 4g. The type numbers would be T820 and T825.
Samsung would put a RAM of 4GB in the tablet, an upgrade compared to the 3GB of the Tab S2. The rear and front cameras have a maximum resolution of twelve megapixels and five megapixels respectively. It is unknown when exactly the tablet should appear.
