The beta test for the Halo Infinite co-op campaign starts on July 11 and will run until July 22. It was previously clear that this test period would take place in July, but 343 Industries has now announced the exact period.

Developer 343 Industries announces that the week of July 11 is the goal, but several media report based on official information that the period starts on July 11th and lasts until July 22. Interested parties must sign up through the Halo Insider program and be in possession of the Halo Infinite campaign or have an active Xbox Game Pass subscription.

To try out this beta, players will need to download a new campaign. Previously saved progression from playing the campaign will not be carried over to the beta, and vice versa, will no longer be available after the beta. During the beta, the entire campaign will be available to four players. The option to replay missions will also be available during the upcoming co-op test period.

In an accompanying interview, lead world designer John Mulkey explains exactly how co-op works for various participating players. All players make their own individual progression while playing together and are not dependent on the leader’s progression. “I could play a solo campaign, jump into a co-op session for a few hours and then play solo again and all mission progress, collectibles acquired, equipment found, achievements earned and upgrades made in both sessions would be intact. Gone are the days when you played someone else’s game and made no progress,” said Mulkey.

343 Industries is unable to provide a definitive release date for the game’s co-op campaign yet. Halo Infinite was released in November last year, but it still has to do without this co-op part and, for example, the level editor Forge Mode. These additions have been postponed several times.
