Into the Breach from FTL makers gets expansion and comes to Netflix Games
Subset Games will release the Advanced Edition of turn-based strategy game Into the Breach on July 19. That is a free upgrade for the indie game that came out in 2018. The game is also coming to Android and iOS via Netflix Games.
According to the makers, the Advanced Edition Update make the game feel ‘like new’ and get the game ‘more of almost everything’. The free update adds new squads, weapons, pilots, enemies and challenges. The game also comes for the first time physically out for Nintendo Switch†
The expansion is coming to existing versions of the game for PC and Nintendo Switch on July 19. From that date, the game will also be available via Netflix Games. That means that Android and iOS versions will be available, which can only be downloaded by Netflix subscribers.
It is not yet known whether the mobile version of Into the Breach will also be available separately on Android and iOS. In a faq the makers write that the game will only be playable via Netflix Games ‘at the moment’.
Into the Breach is a turn-based strategy game in which players use mechs to defend cities against giant insects. The game comes from the makers of the successful indie game FTL: Faster Than Light, which appeared in 2012. Both games use the same pixel art style.
