‘New engineering sample AMD Zen octacore has a clock speed of 3.2GHz’
A new ordering part number of an upcoming Zen desktop processor from AMD has surfaced online. From the product description it can be concluded that it is an octacore with a clock speed of 3.2GHz with boost of 3.5GHz.
The record has been posted online on Reddit and Planet3Dnow. The information has been verified by DresdenBoy, which specializes in AMD chip information. From the designation 1D3201A2M88F3_35/32_N, it can be deduced that it is an engineering sample of a desktop processor, with a clock speed of 3200MHz with boost to 3500MHz and with eight cores.
Previously published on Wccftech two other opns of AMD Zen chips. They described octacores with a clock speed of 2.8GHz and boost to 3.2GHz. It is not known which product names are linked to the opns. AMD is likely to release the Zen desktop processors under the SR3, SR5 and SR7 designations.
There will probably be a Special R7, with unlocked multiplier. That’s according to a table posted on Imgur that seems to list existing rumors about the Summit Ridge generation. AMD will probably introduce the Zen generation in January of 2017.
