HTC has shown the Desire 650. The supposedly cheap phone features two speakers on the front in the BoomSound setup that the manufacturer introduced in high-end phones three years ago, while half of the back is made of non-slip rubber.

The lower half of the back is provided with the non-slip rubber, while the top appears to be made of a smooth plastic. The bottom half should give users of the device a grip, so that it cannot easily slip out of their fingers during use.

There are two speakers at the front, according to the product page. This BoomSound setup was first used by HTC in the 2013 One M7. In addition, it is certified for Hi Res Audio playback. The phone measures 147x71x8.4mm, which is on the large side for a phone with this screen size. The device has a 5″ LCD with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The battery has a capacity of 2200mAh.

The phone has an undisclosed quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon soc, but compatibility with ‘only’ 4g via lte cat 4 indicates that it is an outdated model with older modem in it, for example a 410 or 610. The memory has a size of 2GB, while the storage is 16GB.

The Android 6.0 smartphone should be released soon in Taiwan. It is still unknown whether the model will also appear in Europe at a later date. A price has not yet been announced.
