Hideo Kojima is working on a new Xbox game
Kojima Productions, the studio of Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, is teaming up with Xbox Game Studios on a new game. Kojima and Xbox CEO Phil Spencer announced this. The title is said to use cloud technology. There are no further details yet.
The studio is working on a ‘completely new’ game that ‘no one has ever experienced or seen before’, tells Hideo Kojima at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase† The game maker says it’s a game he’s always wanted to make. Kojima also says that it may take a while before the game is finished.
In addition, Kojima says that the game uses Microsoft’s cloud technology, but he does not say exactly how his studio will do that. Earlier this year, Microsoft announced a division that will focus on cloud-native games, which can, for example, use cloud computing to perform certain calculations in real time. It is not known whether Kojima was referring to this.
There have been rumors for some time that Kojima and Microsoft are collaborating on an Xbox game. In July 2021, indications for this already appeared. Even then, there was talk of a game that uses cloud technology. According to actor Norman Reedus, Kojima is also working on a Death Stranding sequel.
