New 27″ AOC monitor combines 300Hz refresh rate with 1440p resolution
AOC comes with a new gaming monitor on the market. The AOC AGON AG274QS has a 27″ display, a resolution of 1440p and a refresh rate of 300Hz. The combination of such a high refresh rate and resolution is fairly new. The monitor costs around 1100 euros.
According to the Pricewatch, there is only one other monitor that makes the combination of a wqhd resolution and such a high refresh rate: the MSI MEG 271Q Mini LED. It was announced at CES 2022, but there is no release date for that yet. This means that the AOC is currently the only option for those who set these requirements for resolution and refresh rate. In other areas, such as HDR certification and support for G-Sync, the upcoming MSI monitor surpasses the AOC again.
AOC claims that their new monitor offers a moving picture response time of 0.5ms. Notebookcheck notes in addition, that the gray-to-gray response time is 1ms. As for the certification for dynamic refresh rates, which range from 48 to 300Hz, this model has received a Freesync Premium Pro stamp from AMD. He also has a DisplayHDR 600 certification. The static contrast ratio is 1000:1 and dynamically it is 80,000,000:1. Expressed in the sRGB color space, it covers 122 percent. The IPS panel offers viewing angles of 178 degrees.
The USB hub can accommodate four USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and there are four display inputs: two HDMI 2.0 and two DisplayPort 1.4. If you really want to use that full 300Hz, you should use DisplayPort. Other extras include a projected AGON logo below the screen, RGB LED lighting on the back, two 5W speakers, and a stand that supports portrait orientation. There is also support for AOC’s Quick Switch peripheral, a remote control that facilitates users to quickly switch settings, but from the product page It is not clear whether this must be purchased separately. The AOC AGON AG274QS costs around 1100 euros and seems to be available at various online stores.
