Resident Evil Village and No Man’s Sky are coming to PlayStation VR2
Resident Evil Village and No Man’s Sky are coming to Sony’s PlayStation VR2. The entire campaign of the Resident Evil horror game will be playable in virtual reality. For No Man’s Sky it is an update; the game is already available on the first PSVR headset.
Three years ago, No Man’s Sky already got PSVR support with the Beyond update. This allowed the game to be played with the VR headset. The game was re-released in 2020 with improvements for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles and now Sony announces that developer Hello Games is working on a PlayStation VR2 version of the game. It should offer better graphics and support for the new Sense controllers. Further details have not yet been announced, but Sony does show a short trailer.
Resident Evil Village is also coming with a version for the PlayStation VR2. Predecessor Resident Evil 7 already had a VR mode for the PSVR, but the latest installment hasn’t yet. The game’s entire single-player campaign will be playable in VR. In a trailer Sony shows some fights. With the Sense controllers, players operate the hands of main character Ethan. For example, it is possible to use a gun and a knife at the same time.
It is not yet known when the games will be released and what they will cost. Sony has not yet confirmed when the PlayStation VR2 headset will be released. That will probably happen sometime next year.
