WhatsApp allows users to draw on images

WhatsApp has announced that the app is getting a new feature that allows drawing on photos. The app also has the option of using the phone’s screen as a flash for selfies.

If the user takes a photo, he or she will receive additional buttons on WhatsApp after the update to provide the image with text, drawings and emojis. The camera function also includes the option to light up the phone’s screen in white to serve as a flash. Other new features in the app include zooming in while filming and switching cameras while taking a photo by tapping the screen twice.

The new features are similar to those of Snapchat. In that app it is already possible to make drawings on photos and provide them with text. The app has also previously introduced the option to use the phone’s screen as a flash.

The update will be released today for Android devices and will be available soon for iPhones, according to WhatsApp. No date is given here. The company does not specify if or when the new features will come to other platforms.
