Nintendo is coming with a variant of its game Super Mario Maker, in which players can create their own levels for Mario, for his handhelds. There will also be 3DS versions of other Wii U games, such as Pikmin and Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World.

The game is called Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS and is a port of the Wii U game that came out a year ago, Nintendo announced during its 3DS Direct event that the company was livestreaming via Twitch on Thursday afternoon. User-created levels can be shared via local wireless network or via StreetPass, but it is not possible to put levels created on the 3DS online.

In addition, not all features of the Wii U version of Mario Maker, such as the Mystery Mushroom, will work. Many of the levels created by users on the Wii U version should work on the 3DS version, but not all of them. The 3DS variant of Mario Maker will be released on December 2.

In addition, Nintendo announced the release of strategy game Pikmin and sidescroll adventure game Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World for the 3DS. Pikmin will not be released until next year, but the Japanese game company has not given an exact release date. Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World is out February 3.
