Asus presents portable 15.6″ monitor with USB-C connection
Asus announces the ZenScreen MB16AC. The portable 15.6″ monitor has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and can be used as a second screen in combination with a laptop or convertible. The ZenScreen is 8mm thick and weighs 800 grams.
According to Asus, this makes it the thinnest and lightest portable monitor. The screen comes with a flip cover that is 1mm thick and can be folded into a stand. Asus does not yet show the full specifications at the time of writing and it is unknown which panel type is in the screen. According to Asus, the screen edges are 6.5 mm wide.
The screen has a USB-C connection and that is also used to control the pixels. The device also gets its power via USB-C. It is not yet known when the MB16AC will be released on the market. Asus does give a suggested retail price; the ZenScreen will cost 269 euros.
Asus also announced euro prices of a number of products announced in May during the IFA presentation. The Zenbook 3 ultrabook will come in the most expensive version with a Core i7-7500U processor of the Kaby Lake generation, 16GB of memory and a 512GB PCIe SSD. The price for that implementation will be 2000 euros. The Transformer 3 Pro will cost 1,600 euros in the most expensive version and will be equipped with the Core i7-6500U processor of the Skylake generation, 16GB of memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD. Keyboard and stylus are included for that amount.
