Skype has released the final release of version 5.6 of its voip client for Mac OS X. Where Skype used to only pay attention to the Windows version, the Mac OS X version is getting just as much attention these days. For example, video conferencing with up to ten people is possible and text messages can be sent to contacts who are not online. In version 5.6 we see automatic updates, a new full screen mode for OS X 10.7 and of course the necessary problems have been solved.

New features and improvements in Skype 5.6 for Mac include:

• New full screen mode in OS X Lion
• Ability to delete conversations
• Ability to disable Audio Gain Control

Fixed Issues:

• Conversations – Chat messages aren’t shown after clearing recent conversations or closing the last one
• Calling – Choppy audio issue with USB headset while in group call
• Calling – Call toolbar does not appear after call is ended
• Contacts – Selection of contacts in the contact list
