Rumor: upcoming iPhone will get pressure-sensitive home button with haptic feedback

According to a new rumor, the iPhones that Apple is said to be introducing in September will no longer contain a physical home button, but a pressure-sensitive variant with haptic feedback. The Plus version of that iPhone gets two cameras on the back.

The dual camera system of the larger iPhone, the modified home button and the absence of the audio jack are the main features of the upcoming iPhones, claims Bloomberg. The design of the upcoming iPhones hardly differs from that of the current iPhone 6s models, but the two inner lines for the antenna, which are visible on the back of the iPhone 6s smartphones, will not be present in the upcoming versions. The rumor comes from sources from Mark Gurman, who previously wrote for 9to5Mac and regularly released reliable information about future Apple products.

By preserving the design of the iPhone 6s, Apple is moving away from its biannual case update. Bloomberg therefore does not speak of the ‘iPhone 7’, but it is not known what name Apple will use for the devices. In 2017, the year in which the iPhone exists ten years, Apple would give its iPhone another major metamorphosis.

Bloomberg’s report confirms earlier rumors. Especially about the presence of two cameras on the larger iPhone, uncertainty has arisen in recent months: some rumors spoke of the arrival of two iPhone 7 Plus models, one of which would have two cameras. Bloomberg does not mention that possibility. Earlier it was announced via the Wall Street Journal, the newspaper that almost always correctly reports about future Apple products, that there will be no 16GB iPhone 7 models: the minimum storage amount will be 32GB.
