LG unveils V20 smartphone with Android 7.0 Nougat in September
LG has announced that the V20 will be presented in September. The new flagship of the South Korean manufacturer gets Android 7.0 Nougat. Further details are not yet known. Predecessor LG V10 had a second screen and a double front camera.
LG announces the arrival of the V20 on its Korean website. The message emphasizes the collaboration with Google. The manufacturer points out that LG previously made the Nexus 4, 5 and 5X for Google and thus seems to indicate the warm ties between the companies. The LG V20 will get Android 7.0 Nougat and will probably be one of the first smartphones with the new Android version.
The LG V20 will be a top model and “a new standard for premium smartphones with enhanced multimedia capabilities,” according to the manufacturer. LG added extras to the V10, including a second screen on the front, a second selfie camera with a wide viewing angle and a high-quality dac for better sound quality.
With the device, LG probably wants to make an attempt to get smartphone sales back on the rise. The LG G5 has not been a sales success, the manufacturer managed to achieve less turnover from smartphone sales in the past two quarters. At the presentation of the latest figures, the manufacturer already hinted at a new top model that should improve sales.
LG says it will announce the V20 in September, but has not yet mentioned a specific date. The introduction will probably take place around the IFA electronics fair, which will take place in Berlin at the beginning of September.
