Galaxy J2 image shows Smart Glow notification ring

Leaked images of the Galaxy J2 from 2016 give a look at a LED ring for notifications. This functionality, which Samsung will name Smart Glow, already appeared in the manual of the yet to be released smartphone.

In the image is a thick white border to see the camera of the device. This ring contains LEDs, which should provide notifications that stand out when the smartphone is placed with the screen on a surface. It was already clear that the 2016 Galaxy J2 would get this so-called Smart Glow functionality; this was apparent from a manual for the device that came online earlier.

That manual also contained a schematic representation of the notification ring, but no photos yet. Sammobile does publish it now. Users must turn on the Smart Glow functionality in the app of the same name. They can then adjust the color of the LED ring per application and per contact person.

The LED ring brings more applications. For example, users can determine that they receive a signal when the battery is almost empty or the storage is almost full. It is not known whether other Samsung devices will also have Smart Glow.
