Proximus now offers its Daily Travel Passport for roaming in 43 countries outside the EU for the same price as in the EU. Many of these destinations are located within Europe, but the new rates also apply to some thirty countries outside the continent.

In total, Proximus serves 73 countries with the Daily Travel Passport, whereby the provider charges two euros for twenty minutes of calls, twenty text messages and eighty MB of data. Now it costs five euros for the 43 countries that Proximus classifies as ‘Top Destinations’. Within the EU, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein, that is two euros. The cheaper option will be available to all subscribers.

The business option Bizz Travel Europe gives users 200 calling minutes, 200 text messages and 200MB in Europe and the Top destinations for ten euros per month. Top destinations in Europe include Switzerland, Macedonia and Russia, for example. Outside Europe, this concerns, for example, Japan, Indonesia, the US, Canada and South Africa. Despite Thursday’s referendum, the United Kingdom is still part of the European Union and the EU rates have therefore been in force there since this spring. The entire list can be found on the Proximus website.

Update, 14:28: This message initially stated that Proximus would also apply the maximum rates that apply within the EU countries for the 43 countries. That turned out to be incorrect.
