WhatsApp allows citing messages

WhatsApp makes functionality available to its users to quote messages. Clicking on a post allows a user to reply to it, after which the comment appears below the quote.

The advent of quotes was among other things discovers by WABetaInfo. This is one of the hidden features that WABetaInfo had listed, of functionality that had already been added to test versions of WhatsApp, but could not be used yet. WhatsApp has now started to make quoting possible. If you don’t have the option yet, you can try reinstalling WhatsApp to force the update.

Particularly in group conversations, quoting can be useful to make it clear that a user is responding to a previous statement. Also invites would come to group conversations. Each group conversation would have its own URL that participants can share. The URLs could be revoked after which WhatsApp generates a new one.
