Development of horror game Allison Road halted

Work on horror game Allison Road has been halted and the game will not be released. Developer Lilith Ltd. does not disclose why this is happening at this time. The news is striking, because the studio had recently secured the financial backing of Team17.

Lilith Ltd. makes the news known on the game’s Twitter channel. The London game studio will release an explanation for the decision in the coming days. Allison Road started out as a Kickstarter game that was inspired by games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Kickstarter ultimately fell short, but the studio was able to continue developing the game because Team17, known for the Worms franchise, decided to take on the role of publisher.

Allison Road attracted a lot of attention among fans of the horror genre because the set-up of the game is very similar to that of the canceled Silent Hills. Hideo Kojima’s horror game would take place in and around a single house, just like Allison Road would. Another playable teaser was released for the PlayStation 4 during development of Silent Hills, which was liked by players and critics alike. However, PT is no longer available for download.
