Asus shows 24″ monitor with 180Hz panel and thin screen bezels
Asus presents a new 24″ monitor in its ROG Swift series for gamers. The PG248Q has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, response time of 1ms, refresh rate of 180Hz and support for Nvidia’s G-Sync technology.
Although Asus does not mention which panel type the screen uses, it is likely that it is a tn panel due to the low response time. Asus announced the display during its ROG event at the Computex trade show. According to the manufacturer, the panel has an overclockable refresh rate of 180Hz. It is not yet clear whether that is the speed after overclocking, or the guaranteed speed of the panel.
The screen is equipped with a G-Sync module, which works in combination with Nvidia graphics cards. The monitor also features the Asus GamePlus mode, which allows crosshairs, timers and fps counters to be displayed on the screen via options in the on screen display. The housing has relatively thin screen edges, which should make the screen suitable for setups of multiple monitors.
Asus has not yet announced a suggested retail price. It is also not yet clear when the ROG Swift PQ248 monitor will hit the market.
