Game developers working on virtual reality game for Xbox One
Certainly one major game developer would be making a game for the Xbox One with virtual reality elements in it, according to new rumors. It would be a ‘well-known European studio’.
That reports the usually well-informed Ars Technica. The site has its information from a developer of the otherwise unnamed company, after which a confirmation followed from a PR employee. Though details are lacking, the game should be released in 2017 and plans should be made public during the E3 meeting; the game conference will be held next month.
Ars Technica is not allowed to say which game developer it is, but the site does want to say that it is a well-known European company. The VR game itself would be made for the PlayStation and PC in addition to Xbox One.
The tech site’s message adds to previous rumors that arose about a version of the Xbox One that should be able to play VR content. Earlier this week, another site stated that Microsoft wants a VR-compatible Xbox One to work with the Oculus Rift. This new console should be an answer to the PlayStation VR announced by Sony.
